About Dhamma Banga
Dhamma Banga, name given by Pujya Guruji Sri S.N.Goenka, is an upcoming second Vipassana Meditation Center in West Bengal, Kolkata. This center is located in South Kolkata, Sonarpur. The land has already been purchased and construction of various facilities have begun. The center is being constructed in approximately 4 acre land & we are also looking to acquire some more land nearby. We plan to start the center by 2023
Facilities
Dhamma Banga will accommodate around 80 meditators and will be divided into male and female compounds. There will be a large meditation hall and pagoda with meditation cells in which experienced students can work more seriously. Simple vegetarian food is served during the course.
The accommodation at the center is single rooms with attached bathrooms for males and females. There is separate accommodation for those who volunteer as Dhamma servers to run the courses.
The Vipassana Meditation Centre is managed by a board (known as the Trust), the members of which are experienced students appointed for a term of up to two years by the centre teacher. All who serve at the center are volunteers who have experienced the benefits of practicing Vipassana meditation and wish to help others to do so.
